Misdirect and hex enemies

With the help of their unwilling assistant, The Magnificent Sinclair can confuse enemies with curving hexes and rapid bolts.

Sinclair are Heroes in Deadlock. With their trusty magic wand, they can shoot unpredictable Bolts to surprise enemies and use magic to turn them into Rabbits. The Spectral Assistant amplifies their damage and can serve as a fast escape route. Sinclair can even turn their enemies' abilities against themselves with their surprising final trick, Audience Participation.

Henry and Savannah were two young stage magicians in love, who bound their souls to each other for eternity. However, their relationship was strained after a tragic on-stage accident claimed both of their lives. Now, under the shared title of Sinclair, they seek a way to be separated and find peace in the afterlife.

Sinclair was added to Hero Labs (as Magician) on October 24, 2024, and officially released on January 17, 2025 (as THE MAGNIFICENT SINCLAIR).

Ability Point 5
+140.0 Max Damage. +50.0% Assistant Damage.
Notes
  • Bolt redirect will aim accurately at enemies behind walls, provided the ability is re-casted whist the cursor is hovering over where the target is. Targets seem to have a larger than normal vertical aim-assist zone and this can be the reason for bolts going in weird directions on redirect (they are targeting something through walls far away, such as a Trooper, Base Guardian, Shrine, etc).

Spectral Assistant

Channel Time 5s
Cast Range 15m

Duration 6s

Cooldown 40s
Summon an Assistant at the targeted location. The Assistant attacks whenever you fire your weapon, dealing Damage.

While the Assistant is out, you can press 2 to swap positions with your Assistant.

Casting Spectral Assistant also reloads your weapon.

Notes
  • If a hero is hexed during a heavy punch animation, the punch is not interrupted.
  • If a hero is hexed during a channeled ability, the ability is not interrupted.
  • There's currently a bug in which damage dealt by enemies in rabbit form also counts as damage from Sinclair, appearing as if Sinclair dealt "friendly fire" damage to teammates.

Audience Participation

Cast Range 20m

Cooldown 100s
Copy the Ultimate of an enemy hero for a limited time. Reactivating the ability will use the Copied Ultimate instead.

Copies will inherit this ability's upgrade points.
Audience Participation will also copy the cooldown.

Copied Cooldown
Ability Point 1

Ability Point 2

Ability Point 5
Upgrade the Copy ONCE AGAIN!
Notes
  • The "Upgrade" effect determines what Tier level the copied ultimate will be. (The ultimate that is copied will be restricted to however many upgrade Tiers Sinclair has unlocked.)
  • Sinclair has a 1s delay to use the target ultimate after copying.
  • Sinclair can use Audience Participation even if the target enemy hasn't unlocked their ultimate yet.
  • If Spectral Assistant is active, Sinclair can use the teleport ability while copying an ultimate.
  • If Sinclair copies an ultimate but does not use it, Audience Participation uses its default cooldown of 90s.
  • Imbuing Compress Cooldown on Audience Participation does not reduce the copied cooldown, only the default cooldown. However, other sources of cooldown reduction do reduce the copied cooldown.
  • Sinclair only copies the properties of the ultimate, which can make it weaker compared to the original hero. For example, when copying Haze's Bullet Dance, they will deal less damage due to their lower fire rate and lack of the Fixation passive ability.
  • Sinclair gets permanent bonus health from kills or assists with Mo & Krill's Combo, permanent bonus spirit power from kills with Grey Talon's Guided Owl, and Bonus Souls from kills with Vindicta's Assassinate.
  • Audience Participation has instant cooldown if Sinclair kills an enemy with Shiv's Killing Blow T3.
  • Audience Participation has instant cooldown if Sinclair copies Vindicta's Assassinate, due to its charges. However, Assassinate loses a charge each time Sinclair copies and uses it again, and goes on cooldown at zero charges.
  • Sinclair gets Shiv's Rage passive if they copy Killing Blow, dealing bonus damage when at full Rage. The Rage lasts until Sinclair either loses Killing Blow or Rage goes down to zero. However, if Sinclair copies Killing Blow again, they will still have the remaining built-up Rage from the last copy, allowing them to reach full Rage faster.

Background[edit | edit source]

Henry's parents told him he was too young and impulsive to mess with real magic, and so they gave him a deck of cards to play with. He took to sleight of hand naturally and soon was dazzling his classmates with fantastic feats of illusions that were done without mystic artifacts or incantation.

When he was in high school he met Savannah, and their mutual love of stage magic sparked a whirlwind romance. Soon they fell in love and created an act together. Obviously they were meant to be; and so at prom, Henry proposed to Savannah and they married soon after graduation.

Unsurprisingly both sets of parents were not thrilled at this prospect, but Henry and Savannah knew they were soulmates. And so they cemented their love for one another by having a blood mystic bind their souls for eternity.

When an on-stage accident claimed both their lives, no one was sure who to blame. Henry claims Savannah was out of position. Savannah says Henry didn't wait for his cue. But one thing's for sure, since their souls are tied to each other neither one of them have been able to move on. Now a bickering pair of ghosts, Henry and Savannah need to work together if they want to have any chance of undoing their eternal union.

A FATE'S TALE

Lore[edit | edit source]

Sinclair has two different voices, as Henry and Savannah. The character is initially controlled by Henry, then changes to Savannah once Henry dies in-game, and changes back to Henry when Savannah dies. The character who isn't controlling Sinclair plays the Spectral Assistant (though the Assistant currently only has a female model).

Sinclair's stage names are Henry the Magnificent and The Spectacular Savannah.

Both Henry and Savannah believe they are "the responsible one."[1][2]
