Shrines are defensive Structures located in pairs within each team's base. They are the final objectives that must be destroyed before the Patron can be damaged.
Overview[edit | edit source]
Shrines appear to be a metallic chair or throne, with a modified Guardian sitting atop it. The guardian seems to have a conductive metal crown instead of the usual brazier head found on standard guardians, which it uses to target nearby Troopers.
Shrines are found in pairs within each team's base, located on opposite sides to each other. The Patron will patrol between each Shrine, and defend any that are under attack. Shrines have the lowest base health of any structure at 4,000 Health.
Despite being able to target Troopers, Shrines cannot actually deal damage to them or Heroes, rendering them harmless.
Durability[edit | edit source]
Like Base Guardians, Shrines also have scaling Bullet Resist, albeit at a higher rate. By default, they have 60% Bullet Resist, however with every additional enemy hero nearby, they lose 20%. This is likely to discourage backdooring, and encourage attacking the base as a team.
Nearby Enemy Heroes | Bullet Resist |
---|---|
0 | 60% |
1 | 40% |
2 | 20% |
3 | 0% |
4 | -20% |
5 | -40% |
6 | -60% |
Like the Patron and Walkers, shrines also have backdoor protection, This causes them to constantly regenerate health if there are no Troopers nearby.
Destruction[edit | edit source]
Destroying an individual Shrine will grant each member of your team 500 Souls, and an Ability Point.
When one shrine and two base walkers have been destroyed, the enemy team is awarded its final item Flex slot.
Once both shrines have been destroyed, the enemy Patron will become vulnerable to damage.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- The backrest of the throne, as well as the sign worn by the Guardian, feature the following Latin text
In English this approximately translates toEN SACRIFICIUM CUSTOS LAPIDIS CORDE DIVINO OBLATUM TESTAMENTUM IN CHORO VIRTUTIS ET OBSEQUIL IN UMBRIS HUIUS THRONI RESONAT LEGATUM EORUM QUI AUSI SUNT CAELOS LACES SERE SOLUM INVENIRE FORTUNAM IN SACRIFICIO DESINATAM. HIC THRONUS MEMORIALE STET OPORTET ET POTEN TISSIMUM ORDINEM COELESTE ADORARE
Behold the sacrifice, the guardian of the stone offered with a divine heart—a testament. In the chorus of virtue and obedience, in the shadows of this throne, resounds the legacy of those who dared to challenge the heavens, only to find fortune destined in sacrifice. This throne must stand as a memorial, and it is fitting to worship the most powerful celestial order.
