Mid-Boss, also known as the Mid Boss and The Boss, is a powerful neutral jungle boss with strong attacks and a regenerating shield to defend itself. Teams of Heroes may attempt to kill Mid-Boss to harvest potent Rejuvenator buffs, improving the strength of three Heroes that claim them.

Overview[edit | edit source]

After 10 minutes have elapsed in a match, the Mid-Boss will spawn underground in the sewers in the center of the map. Its arrival is announced through a loud roar, followed by the Patron's announcement, "The Mid-Boss has arrived". While Mid-Boss is alive, a golden Rejuvenator symbol will appear at its location in the minimap, and above the entrances to the Mid-Boss pit.

The path to the Mid-Boss' pit can be found in entrances marked with the Rejuvenator sign, at the Blue lane. These entrances will also have a glowing Rejuvenator symbol above them when the Mid-Boss has respawned.

The Mid-Boss is initially dormant and will not attack anyone outside its pit. As soon as a player has entered the pit, the Mid-Boss will attack by channeling a bright purple beam onto them. If multiple players are inside the pit, it will prioritize the closest one. Additionally, the Mid-Boss can only be damaged by players who are inside its pit, and will be completely invulnerable to outside attacks.

Unlike most units, Mid-Boss has a special shield surrounding it at all times that prevents it from taking health damage. In order to actually harm it, enough damage needs to be dealt to deplete the constantly regenerating shield, which can prove difficult for individual or unprepared players. Once Mid-Boss has reached 70% Health, it will roar once again, announcing to both teams that it is close to death.

Health Scaling[edit | edit source]

Mid-Boss' Health scales linearly from when it spawns. For every minute that passes after it has spawned, it gains an additional 200 Health, which is added to its 12,500 Base Health.

Death[edit | edit source]

When the Mid-Boss is slain, a Rejuvenator crystal will spawn above the pit and begin its slow descent, which takes 7 seconds. The Rejuvenator crystal is not targetable as it descends and cannot be claimed until it has fully landed on the ground. Once landed, attacking it with a heavy melee attack grants a Rejuvenator Credit to the entire team. Each heavy melee hit on the crystal grants one credit (up to 3 for the first Mid-Boss kill, and 4 for subsequent kills).

Rejuvenator Credit[edit | edit source]

The Rejuvenator credit grants all team members a buff that allows them to revive in the place of their death after 3s. When a player dies, they respawn in place, lose the buff, and their team’s Rejuvenator credits are reduced by 1 (each player can consume only one credit). The buff also increases Health, Fire Rate, and Spirit Damage at the following rates:

The Rejuvenator credit lasts 4 minutes. The top UI bar displays the remaining Rejuvenator credits. Once all credits are used, the buff is removed from all team members.

Respawn[edit | edit source]

The Mid-Boss respawns 7 minutes after its first death. Then it respawns 6 minutes after its second death, and 5 minutes after its third and subsequent deaths.

  • Mid Boss HP is now fixed at the spawn time. Base HP increased from 6725 to 12500 and growth reduced from 470 to 200.

  • Added a new Mid Boss Rejuvenator Symbol with three visual states (not spawned, under 1 min from spawn, and spawned).
  • The new large amount of breakables in the mid boss middle area now initially spawn at the same time as mid boss.
  • Fixed turrets shooting midboss if it's invulnerable to them (i.e. an enemy or ally was in the pit, they would shoot it but do no damage). It will shoot the mid boss if you're in the pit (which will allow them to damage mid boss). Same treatment for Weakened Patron.

[Misc Gameplay]

  • Mid Boss now has 15 regen
  • Mid Boss creep buff rescaled from 70% to 50/70/90% for the 1/2/3rd mid boss death (further deaths don't increase)
  • Mid Boss rejuv respawn rescaled from 50% to 40/50/60% for the 1/2/3rd mid boss death (further deaths don't increase)
  • Shields no longer reduce damage or get depleted by NPC units (Troopers, Bosses etc, but still takes damage from player summoned units)
