Astral Gates
Astral Gates are rifts in space and time connected to the Outer Planes. It is thought that celestial events could awaken them.[1]
Known Gates
There are 7 known Astral Gates and 1 rumoured, five of these have been mentioned so far.
- New York - An Astral Gate was opened in Central Park, which lead to Professor Dynamo's body being atomised upon investigating it.
- Atlantic Ocean - An Astral Gate may have been open in the Bermuda Triangle for as long as 565[2] as entities such as the Loch Ness Monster have escaped from the gate. It has also recently released something far more predatory, leading Viscous to seek out The Patrons in order to keep The Deep safe.
- Europe - A dormant Astral Gate has recently been discovered.[1]
- Puerto Rico - The discovery of an Astral Gate led to the annexation of Puerto Rico by the United States.[3]
- Arctic Circle (Rumoured) - There is rumoured to be an 8th Astral Gate, a science team assembled by Kelvin set off to try and discover it. However, the team disappeared and Kelvin was the only body recovered.
At least one of the Astral Gates leads to the plane of Ixia.[4]
