Components in Deadlock are special items that are constituents of higher-tier items. These parent items act as direct upgrades to their components, replacing them entirely when purchased. As such, parent items provide all the benefits of their component items, as well as several additional effects. Purchasing parent items automatically purchases the component item, making them more expensive than other items in their tier, unless the component has already been purchased. For example, Tier 3 items normally cost 3000 souls, but Titanic Magazine costs 3500 unless Basic Magazine has already been purchased.
