This style guide on layout is a style guide on the overall structure for page articles.

The section outline below is not intended to be a comprehensive end all, but establishes a general order to encourage consistency between multiple pages. Different topics with different sections will not have the same information and should not use all sections.

Header

Different pages with different sections will not have the same information, but there is a general structure for every article. The follow sections should always be shown in this order:

  • Notice and ambox templates: This includes {{cleanup}}, {{construction}}, and {{outdated}} templates.
  • Disambiguation: Topics that have the same or similar names should have a {{disamg}} notice.

Body

  • Infobox: Corresponding information is displayed here. See Category:Infobox templates
  • Introduction: This covers a brief overview of the article, generally one or two sentences. It can also include the patch it was introduced in.
  • TOC: On most articles, the TOC will automatically appear before the first section.
  • Content: This covers the main information of the article or goes in further depth.
    • Heroes, Items, Units, and Update History have varying section orders, but they should all be consistent.
  • Update history: If content has changed over the course of the game, that information is listed here. Use {{update history}} or {{Update history table}}
  • Gallery: The gallery shows images otherwise too bulky to fit into the main article. Multiple images should be grouped inside <gallery> tags.
  • Trivia: This covers tidbits of information not appropriate for the main page, or make references to content outside of the game.
