This '''style guide on layout''' is a style guide on the overall structure for page articles. The section outline below is not intended to be a comprehensive end all, but establishes a general order to encourage consistency between multiple pages. Different topics with different sections will not have the same information and should not use all sections. ==Header== Different pages with different sections will not have the same information, but there is a general structure for every article. The follow sections should always be shown in this order: * Hatnote templates. * Notice and ambox templates: This includes {{t|cleanup}}, {{t|construction}}, and {{t|outdated}} templates. * Disambiguation: Topics that have the same or similar names should have a {{t|disamg}} notice. == Body == * Infobox: Corresponding information is displayed here. See [[:Category:Infobox templates]] * Introduction: This covers a brief overview of the article, generally one or two sentences. It can also include the patch it was introduced in. * TOC: On most articles, the TOC will automatically appear before the first section. * Content: This covers the main information of the article or goes in further depth. ** Heroes, Items, Units, and Update History have varying section orders, but they should all be consistent. * Update history: If content has changed over the course of the game, that information is listed here. Use {{t|update history}} or {{t|Update history table}} * Gallery: The gallery shows images otherwise too bulky to fit into the main article. Multiple images should be grouped inside <nowiki><gallery></nowiki> tags. * Trivia: This covers tidbits of information not appropriate for the main page, or make references to content outside of the game. * See also: * References: == Footer == * Navigation: Navigation templates go at the end of the article. See [[:Category:Navbox templates]] * Categories: == Section specifc layouts == === Items === Every [[Item]] is structured the same and uses the same word choice. Please do your best to follow the specific style and wording of every other item page. A lot of time and effort has gone into making sure these pages are consistent and designed optimally. Please refer to existing pages such as [[Heroic Aura]], [[Spirit Armor]] and [[Improved Spirit]] for the exact layout and wording of an item page. An example for an item introduction is given below: <pre> [NAME] is a Tier [1/2/3/4] [Spirit/Vitality/Weapon] Item that provides [STAT1], [STAT2] [... AND SO ON...] and [STAT3] to the purchasing hero. [NAME] has an Active which can be used to [ACTIVE DESCRIPTION]. It can be purchased from the [[Shop]] for [SOUL COST] (its [[Component]], [COMPONENT NAME], makes up [COMPONENT SOUL COST] of the cost). It is a component of [PARENT ITEM NAME]. </pre>
